The Fashion Week
Since 1943, the biggest names in the fashion world have been presenting their collections in the world’s most influential fashion cities, from New York to London, Milan, Madrid and, of course, Paris, the world’s fashion capital!
At the spring-summer Paris Fashion Week you will be able to bring yourself up-to-date with the latest trends in fashion: Chanel, Dior, Valentino – the biggest names in haute-couture will be parading their models before you! Fashion lovers should write the dates down in their agendas: the Men’s Fashion Week is being held from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 January, 2015, while the Haute Couture week, goes from Sunday 25 to Friday 30 January, 2015.
Cirque Pinder celebrates its 160th anniversary
Cirque Pinder has now been enchanting crowds of all ages for 160 years. Until January 11th, to celebrate its anniversary Cirque Pinder will be visiting the Pelouse de Reuilly (a large, tree-lined grassed area) at the Bois de Vincennes in Paris, where the circus will be presenting its new show. High-wire acrobats, a dexterous juggler, prankster clowns, a touch of magic, exotic animals and roller skating all feature in the programme, but expect a lot of new tricks too.
The 2015 All Star Game
For several years now, the Ligue Nationale de Basket’s (National Basketball League’s) All Star Game has been taking place annually at the Paris-Bercy arena and has now become a must-see event, having sold out completely for the last nine years in a row. Come and watch the All Stars game, which pits the French national championship’s best home-grown players against its best foreign players! The event will also include outstanding entertainment, and it all takes place in an environment completely given over to the show, and there will be a number of surprises in store too. Make a date for Saturday, 3 January!
The au Fil des Voix world music festival
A burst of warmth in the coldest days of winter. The au Fil des Voix festival, which is being held for the eighth time, and once again at the Alhambra, provides a showcase for artists from different cultures and an opportunity for distinct musical worlds to meet up. Artists from Asia, America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa will be coming together to present their latest music and demonstrate, once again, that world music is not restricted just to its traditional forms. Between January 29th and February 9th,12 evening shows will take place across 20 stages, with more than 100 artists, including around 20 groups from over 20 different countries.
A foodie journey to the heart of France
Food lovers take note: the best local produce specialists are to be found exhibiting at the Salon Mer et Vigne food exhibition. Whether they are oyster farmers, wine growers or livestock farmers, all the producers at the show will be happy to introduce you to the refined, original flavours of their elegantly packaged products. Come and see over one hundred exhibitors extolling the marvels of the sea, the delights of the soil, and the charm of the vine at the Parc Floral de Paris.
