Your message space

In your message space, you will find all of your discussions.
The messenger is divided into two parts: “Travel” and “Host”.
In the “Travel” tab, you will find all the NightSwap requests you’ve sent to potential hosts.
In the “Host” tab, you will find all the discussions from travelers that want to come at your place.

How to contact hosts

Once you’ve created a travel project, you will be able to visualize properties available within the city you have selected. Click on the advert, you will find on the right a button “Contact”. If you are not sure about the date of your travel, select the adverts you are interested in, then go to your wish list to send enquiries to all the hosts.



We strongly you suggest you send around ten requests to increase your chances of finding a NightSwap.

What should my message look like?

To build trust and create a friendly atmosphere, make sure to customize your message when reaching out to a potential host. Present yourself, your project, the travelers that will be accompanying you, what you would like do, etc…

Also, please remember you need a complete profile to be able to make requests.  To learn how, visit the “Profile and listing” page.

How can I make changes to my NightSwap request

If you have an on-going discussion but have changed your plans (dates, number of travelers…), click on the 3 vertical dots on the top right hand of the conversation and “Modify my NightSwap” to make changes to your reservation. The host will receive a notification as soon as you’ve made your changes.

Confirming your NightSwap

To confirm your NightSwap once a host has accepted your request, click on “Confirm your NightSwap”. You will then need to fill in your billing address (if you haven’t already) and your credit card information to proceed to the online payment.

  • Credit cards accepted by our website: Visa, American Express, Master Card, (Paypal not accepted)
  • Currency accepted: Euros, Swiss Francs, British Pounds, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Australian Dollars


If you travel regularly with NightSwapping hosts, you can also earn Nights. These nights will be available in your NightWallet after 2 successful stays.

You will be able to use them for either traveling, or for converting them into money.


  • 1st NightSwap = 4 Nights worth 50€/Night, you earn 5% of 200€ which will be 10€.
  • 2nd NightSwap = 2 Nights worth 100€/Night, you earn 5% of 200€ which will be 10€.

The money (20€) will be transferred to your NightWallet, so that you can use it to travel or to convert it into money.

Canceling your NightSwap (before confirmation)

If you are no longer sure you’re leaving and a host has already accepted your request, you can easily cancel your request and free the dates for other members. To do so, click on the 3 vertical dots and then click on “Cancel my NightSwap”. Don’t forget to share the reasons of the cancellation with your host.

How do I accept or refuse a NightSwap?

When a traveler wants to stay at your place and sends you a requests, you will receive both an email in your inbox and a pink notification on the “Notifications” tab. 

Clicking on the message will bring you straight to the traveler’s discussion.

If you’re available to host the traveler, click on “Accept this NightSwap” at the bottom of the discussion. If you can’t host the traveler, click on the 3 vertical dots and then “Close this discussion” after having sent a quick message to the traveler, explaining why you cannot receive him/her.

To avoid all frustration and receiving requests on dates you are not available to host, remember to update the availability in your calendar.
