Heading into a new year, with new travel plans and the classic 7-day-duration new year’s resolution? Or perhaps with no resolutions at all… Well here at NightSwapping we’ve got an idea or two for the foodie type out there wondering if there’s life beyond the 25th and for the traveller type lacking destination inspiration…
So as NightSwapping is an international travel startup, we’re always on the look out for other great, unique concepts & ideas. This is because we’re feeling more inspired than ever following the lauch of our latest surprise search this month. It allows you to swipe through unexpected destinations that you’d never have thought to type into a search bar for free stays at a local’s, pretty much anywhere in the world. This surprise search left us feeling spontaneous for 2016 and so we got looking into this #newyearsres and first turned to FOOD… naturally.
With new foodie concepts and quirky restaurant alternatives popping up all the time in towns and cities across Europe, we appreciate that sometimes it’s hard to keep track of all of them. That’s why we at NightSwapping wanted to bring a new favourite to your attention.
We’ll set the scene…
So a beret-wearing, French man could cook you a 5 course French meal whilst serenading you & friends with Serge Gainsbourg… Or if that doesn’t quite do it for you, how about a barbados BBQ in an east London church? This is Grub Club – a secret underground world of dining that you want to be part of on your next visit to London.
Grub Club curates Pop Ups and Supper Clubs in London allowing you to try exciting menus from hundreds of chefs around the UK capital while dining in unique spaces.
“There’s no complicated rulebook” they say, “and there’s no secret initiation process to attend.” – we’re relieved… we just want to eat! “Supper clubbers are generally a friendly and diverse bunch looking to meet new people and enjoy the evening together over the dinner table.”
So perhaps this year’s post Christmas blues, before heading out for dinner with money you don’t have, why don’t you think to reconnect with old and new friends by inviting them to a GrubClub event, or if you’re feeling really motivated – set up your own supper club in 2016.
A very happy Christmas from all at NightSwapping & Grub Club!
